The Great Southern Art Award is an exhibition and celebration of the Visual Arts in the Great Southern region.

The exhibition gives artists the opportunity to have their work professionally displayed in the Albany Town Hall, and features work by emerging and established artists in both 2D and 3D forms.

The $5,000 City of Albany Acquisitive Prize is the major prize awarded, with the winning artwork being added to the City of Albany Art Collection. The prize winner also has the opportunity to spend up to four weeks working in an artist studio located at the Vancouver Arts Centre.

Other prizes include $1,000 cash prizes for painting, works on paper, print,3D, a $500 cash prize for popular choice. This year there is also a $1,000 acquisitive prize sponsored by Hit FM.

The exhibition will be open to the public from April 13 until June 3, at Albany Town Hall from 10am – 4pm daily.
